Public Participation: Members of the public are invited to attend the meeting in person or may view and listen to the meeting via simultaneous webcasting on the Internet. Video and audio archives of the meeting may be accessed via the Internet approximately two days after the meeting. Please visit the Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA) website at http://www.dfg.ca.gov/mlpa/meetings_n.asp for more information. In addition, two public access locations will be open to the public in Crescent City and Eureka to remotely view and participate in the meeting (specific locations to be announced the week of July 12).
Public comment: The public will be invited to offer general comments on subjects related to the work of the MLPA Blue Ribbon Task Force (BRTF), not specific to an agenda item, at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21. Speaker cards are requested and may be found at the entrance to the room. Time allotted for public comment is determined by the number of requests; submitting written comments that can be easily summarized in one to two minutes is encouraged.

Meeting Objectives
- Discuss and potentially approve additional guidance to the MLPA North Coast Regional Stakeholder Group regarding developing Round 3 NCSRG marine protected area (MPA) proposals.
- Receive MLPA North Coast Regional Stakeholder Group (NCRSG) draft MPA proposals
- Receive draft recommendations for special closures developed by the NCRSG
- Receive evaluations of NCRSG draft MPA proposals, MPA Proposal 0 (existing MPAs), and special closures from the MLPA Master Plan Science Advisory Team (SAT),MLPA Initiative staff, California Department of Fish and Game (DFG), and California Department of Parks and Recreation (California State Parks)
- Receive updates on the SAT, NCRSG, and MLPA Statewide Interests Group (SIG)
- Receive updates on north coast goals and objectives, public outreach and education, tribal outreach and data gathering, the 2008-2011 MLPA Initiative budget and upcoming meetings
- Receive an update on MLPA implementation in other study regions
